First of all, thanks for checking out the website! I've never fooled around with web design before, but I got bored and decided to give it a shot. I don't think my first attempt was all that bad. :-) Now... about me. I was born on June 26, 1977, at Memorial Hospital in Easton, Maryland. I grew up in the small town of Secretary... on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Probably the most thrilling thing that happened while I was there was the state coming through and repaving Main Street. Not much ever happened there. I attended schools in Secretary, and in nearby Hurlock, where our middle and high schools are located. I don't remember much about Warwick Elementary School, which is where I went from Kindergarten through 5th grades. I remember how fearful it was to move to North Dorchester Middle School, which is where I went for 6th through 8th grades. I think all of us go through that at one point. In 1991, I entered a time in my life I will never forget... high school. North Dorchester High School to be specific. It was within those walls that I experienced love for the first time. It was parked behind "E-Building" where I lost my virginity (I had to add that part in there). I played in the band for the entire 4 years I was there, marching with the N.D.H.S. Marching Eagles, along with performing in our concert and jazz bands. I had a lot of great friends there, too. Some of my closest friends... people that I grew up with and enjoyed many laughs with... are no longer with us (although I'm sure Billy and John are causing trouble somewhere either above or below us right now). Most of the people I hung out with I haven't seen since I crossed the stage at our high school graduation in 1995. Some moved away even before graduation. Some went off to college or the military. Some even stayed right here on the Eastern Shore. I was one of them. I never went to college like I wanted to. I always pictured myself teaching somewhere. My own laziness kept me from doing that. I, however, held many jobs after my graduation. I worked at our local McDonald's (I think everyone worked in fast food at one time)... making power drills at Black & Decker... as a security guard... a night stocker at Wal-mart... even as a substitute teacher at North Dorchester High School, my former stomping grounds. As a matter of fact, I held several positions with the Dorchester County Board of Education... including being a computer technician (which has always been one of my hobbies). However, one job really sticks out as the one I've enjoyed the most. On September 3, 1999, listeners of 100.9 FM WAAI heard my voice on the airwaves for the very first time. I had begun my radio career in that building, in a field, in the woods, outside of Hurlock. I had begun a stint with WAAI that would last for over 3 years. After part-timing on WAAI, along with its sister station (107.1 The Duck), I decided to leave the Board of Ed to pursue my radio career full-time. I began working everyday in January 2000, taking over the afternoon drive shift for my good friend Al Miller, who was going back to school. I was promoted several times... to music director... to assistant program director... to program director. I was our 4-station group's Public Service Director. I used my computer skills to help our station engineer on big projects. It was a great time, and I got to work with a lot of great people over those 3 years. Dave Fleetwood... John Harris... Norm Elliott... J. Norman... Joel Scott... Shane Walker... and lots of others. I even returned to WAAI, after taking 6 months off to return to the Board of Education, to take over the morning drive shift, which I did for several months. It was a great ride while it lasted. That's just about all there is to know about me... hope you enjoyed it. If there's anything else you wish to know... just drop me an e-mail. I'll be happy just knowing that someone actually read all of this happy horse shit. ;-) 9/3/03 Update Well... the past few weeks have been pretty eventful in my life. First of all... Samantha and I broke up in July, and I'm now loving at home again. Joy. It's been hard getting re-adjusted to being here, and cramming all of my crap into a little bedroom. But, it's for the best. Things with Sam and I just weren't working out, and I broke things off between us. Being single again sucks. Second... the game show geek in me is very happy. I just started a part-time job at WKHZ 1590 News in Ocean City. What's cool about it is that the station is owned my Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak! Maybe he'll just happen to drop by one Sunday when I'm on the air so I can meet him. Wouldn't that be the coolest thing?? Finally... for this update anyway... and with saving the best news for last... I am now a Godfather. My best friend Kim spit out a 9 lb. 10 oz. baby girl named Aleya Mya Webster on August 27, 2003, at 7:17 PM. I was in the delivery room with Kim most of the day, though she kicked me out when the actual event took place. So... no good action pics for the website. Dammit. Personally... holding that baby for the first time just put to rest any unhappy or sad feeling that I'd had very long time. I can see that I'm going to spoil the hell out of this child. Well... that's this update... keep coming back for the latest news!!
11/11/05 Update Wow... has it been over 2 years since I updated this thing?? Jebus... I really need to pay more attention to my own website. Seriously though... let's get caught up. First of all... my career. In January of 2004, I departed from the mighty WKHZ. And... it's a good thing, too. Not long after I left... Sajak cancelled his lease agreement of the radio station, absentee ownership took the station over, and changed formats. And... of all the formats to change to... the mighty 1590 WKHZ became a current Top-40 station. On AM. Gee... it sounds just dandy. After leaving WKHZ... I ended up part-timing at the radio station that was my direct competition when I worked at WAAI... 96.7 WCEI in Easton. It was a strange experience... working behind the mic of the station I was trained to hate when I worked for MTS. However... I ended up staying at WCEI for almost 2 years. In fact... tomorrow will be my last shift there. More on that later. In June of 2004... I was picked up as a full-time news and production director at news/talker Talk Radio 101.1 FM WQMR in Ocean City. I'm currently still there. In fact... in May of 2005... I relocated to an oceanside apartment. WQMR has been... by far... the greatest station I have ever had the privilege to work for. After spending over a year on the early morning shift... they moved me to a better shift... working 9 to 5 every weekday. Relationship wise... I'm still single. And I hate it. Ugh. In this world of internet fads... I do maintain a "blog". You can find it here. However... due to some problems with some nuts on the internet... I've had to make it "friends only" so I know who's reading it. If you'd like to keep up with me... all you have to do is create a LiveJournal account (which is free), then add me to your "friends" list. Once I accept you... you can keep up with all of my goings on. I apologize for the Fort Knox like security though. You can thank an easy Internet equasion for that though...
