US 50 - Ocean Gateway
Salisbury to Linkwood

Once leaving the new Salisbury bypass... US 50 continues west toward Cambridge.  Most sections of the highway are you're normal 4-lane divided highway... with a short expressway section around Vienna, which opened in 1991.  Most sections look similar to the pic above.

The new US 50 bypass around Salisbury rejoins its original alignment.  The westbound side of the highway resumes 2-lanes just up the road.

The transition from old mainline US 50 to the new Vienna bypass.  The original US 50 reduced to a 2-lane road (one lane in each direction) at this location, and traveled through the clearing in the woods up ahead.  A page on this abandoned section of US 50 can be seen here.

Traveling westbound toward Linkwood.  US 50 rejoins its original alignment in the first pic... just after the intersection with MD 731.

Crossing the Chicamacomico River.  Westbound US 50 got a new bridge at this location in 1996... replacing a span that was constructed in the '30s.

Continuing westbound toward Linkwood.  Various original alignments of the former US 213 (US 50's old number until the '50s) snake US 50 throughout this section of the highway.  Most are under county control.
