 Kings
Highway Freeman Highway Lewes, DE Once
making it to Five Points, US 9 leaves its multiplex with DE 404 (which
ended at DE 1), and enters a short multiplex with DE 1, bypassing
downtown Lewes. Business US 9, US 9's original alignment
through Lewes, serves the business community. Once
leaving DE 1, US 9 becomes the Kings Highway, and the Freeman Highway,
and turns into a 2-lane expressway, bypassing Lewes.
After
meeting up with Business US 9 once again, US 9 then serves the southern
portal of the Cape May-Lewes Ferry, and laves the Delmarva Peninsula.

Note the wooden supports on the
guardrails. This section of US 9 borders Cape Henlopen State
Park, and is very scenic to drive. |

Business US 9 outside of Lewes. |
